As someone who loves to cook and entertain, people are constantly asking me who my culinary inspirations are (editor's note: literally no one asks) and I have a list of a few favorites.
Nigella Lawson has been a comfort cook of mine for years. She makes cooking and entertaining feel regal but not at all pretentious. If you've watched her show before, you may have spied her sneaking into her fridge to eat leftovers or eating spaghetti in her pajamas. That's glamour baby! I love her.
Next up is Ina Garten. She's def another comfort watch. She seems chic and coastal fancy, but also like a ton of fun. I'd like to hang at her Hampton's home and drink cosmos with her (I don't even drink cosmos).
I first discovered Melia Marden in the pages of Vogue when she ran a catering company with her friend and was a big fan of her restaurant "The Smile" in NYC. Her cookbook "Modern Mediterranean" is a nod to her childhood summers spent in Greece and the recipes are simple but flavorful (which is my vibe).
Then there's Martha. I'll be real, there's something about Martha that scares me a little. She feels intimidating and maybe not super warm and I LIKE WARM PEOPLE. But you can't deny her overall aesthetic. I own a few of her vintage books and the photos and tips are really inspiring. I think she has great style and you can tell her I said that. I'm sure she's been asking.
